"Baby Jesus ultrasound" billboards back by popular demand!

Due to the overwhelming popularity and appreciation of the “Baby Jesus ultrasound” billboard Pro-Life Wisconsin placed in three Wisconsin cities before Christmas, the image is back, this time celebrating Mother’s Day. Read the backstory here. View a full-sized version of the billboard here.

The above billboard can be found in Milwaukee at the intersection of 6th Street & Beecher Avenue. The billboards are also in two Kenosha locations — the intersection of Sheridan Rd & 83rd St  and the intersection of 30th Ave & 60th St. The Kenosha billboards are co-sponsored by Right to Life of Kenosha.

The billboards were posted Monday, April 18 and will be up for a month.

God's sense of humor on Good Friday

More than 100 people showed up for our Good Friday Stations of the Cross in Milwaukee. In the photo, left, you can see the procession from St. Rita’s to Affiliated and below, the crowd of pro-lifers lining the sidewalk outside the abortion facility. But the crowd of pro-lifers isn’t even the best part!

As part of our prayer vigil at Affiliated Medical Services, we were led in the Chaplet of the Holy Face. As we prayed, we gazed upon a large picture of the crucified face of Jesus. Within this beautiful oration was an exorcism prayer, "Arise, O Lord, and let Thy enemies be scattered, and them that hate Thee fly before Thy face!"

Suddenly we noticed that the police were in the area. They were not there for crowd control — they were directing traffic because the traffic signals were completely out. The neon sign in the window of Affiliated was out as well.

Clients started streaming OUT of the mill in a pretty steady flow. All the lights were out inside the abortion mill! Clients were not sticking around for an abortion by candlelight.

As the women streamed out, we said, “This is a sign from God that you should keep your baby! God has a plan for your baby! Go home! Love your baby! Have a wonderful Easter!” One young mom smiled and nodded in agreement with our statement! The ‘deathscorts’ were very busy doing damage control, scoffing at our divine implications.

The Doubting Thomases out there may still find it hard to see the hand of God at work here. Every building, street light, traffic signal on Farwell, as far as the eye could see, was without power, save one, whose lights were burning brightly amidst the darkness. That building was the pro-life crisis pregnancy center across the street from Affiliated, the Women’s Care Center. God’s way of smiling at pro-lifers on Good Friday, and a message for the vulgar, angry pro-aborts we encounter all too often?

Later Good Friday afternoon, more than 100 people attended the Good Friday Stations of the Cross in Madison, led by Fr. Rick Heilman in the pouring rain. Fr. Rick had prayed for inclement weather so as to increase the opportunity for all to sacrifice on behalf of the preborn. Again, God answered the prayers of faithful pro-lifers.

Thank you to everyone who attended.

Young mother with cancer sacrifices life for unborn child

From LifeSiteNews:
In August of last year Jessica Council – a beautiful, 30-year-old mother of one – noticed that she had a sore throat. At around the same time, she also began to suspect that she was pregnant.

When after two weeks the sore throat had not gone away, Jessica decided to have it checked out. Her doctor told her that it was probably a thyroid goiter, and ultimately nothing to be too concerned about. Just to be sure, however, he had a test done, which he said confirmed his initial suspicions. Everything would be ok, he said.

But everything was not ok. The doctor had misread the test.

Around November 15, Jessica began having trouble breathing. On November 21 she landed in the emergency room. Then, on November 22, her throat closed up so tightly that she could not breathe, at which point doctors managed to insert a tube down her throat, and put her on a ventilator.

The following day, November 23, Jessica was informed that she had cancer. By then, she also knew for certain that she was with child.

Philippine president ready to risk excommunication for support of birth control

From Catholic News Service:
Philippine President Benigno Aquino said he is willing to risk excommunication from the Catholic Church rather than scrap the so-called Responsible Parenthood Bill, reported the Asian church news agency UCA News.

"I remain committed to pushing for the introduction of a law for responsible parenthood ... at risk of excommunication, it is my obligation as a leader," Aquino told graduates from the University of the Philippines.

"In the end I must listen to my conscience and do what is right," the president said. He said he cannot stand by and watch the cycle of poverty continue as unplanned births spiral.

The proposed legislation faces strong opposition from the Catholic Church because of provisions that allow the use of contraception.
