After months of hard work, passionate lobbying at the State Capitol, and many phone calls and emails from grassroots pro-lifers, we are extremely disappointed to report that the “Choose Life” Wisconsin license plate (AB 206) did not pass. Senate Republican leadership refused to schedule the bill for a final vote on the last day of session, effectively killing it.

Walker Campaign Spokeswoman Supports Planned Parenthood, Abortion

Last Thursday, news broke that Gov. Scott Walker's campaign spokeswoman, Alleigh Marre, is a vocal supporter of Planned Parenthood, abortion, and contraception.

"Obviously, that's a problem. These are top positions," said Matt Sande, Pro-Life Wisconsin's Legislative Director. "They should be of one mind on these core social issues. I think he needs a new spokeswoman, immediately."

In 2011, Marre, 25, wrote on her blog, which has since been deleted, "I'm a Republican, and I support Planned Parenthood, a woman's right to choose, access to STD testing, birth control, etc. Did I mention I'm a Republican?"

The same day, Gov. Walker defended his hiring of Marre, saying he hires people for his campaign based on their abilities, not their pro-life beliefs. He added that Marre would be keeping her job. “She’s not a policy maker in those particular issues,” he said in her defense. “She’s acting as a communications person.”
