 What to say when Planned Parenthood shows up at your door

Last Monday, we reported that Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin [PPWI] is hiring "community campaigners to help run our 2010 canvassing operations." These employees of PPWI will be going "door-to-door [to] talk about issues affecting women's health and rights." Click here to view the job description on PPWI's website.

Many people asked for talking points on how to address Planned Parenthood's lies. Click here for a list of reasons why we are opposed to Planned Parenthood.

Click here for a sign to print off and post on your door or your window. Share it with your family, friends, church groups and neighbors! If Planned Parenthood does knock on your door, and you do not feel comfortable engaging them in a discussion, point to the sign and tell them to leave. By law, Planned Parenthood employees have to leave your property when you direct them to the no-trespassing sign.

Parents need to be aware that PPWI is an organization which covers up statutory rape, lies or is ignorant about fetal development, provides birth control to teenagers without their parents' knowledge and lies to women about the physical and emotional after effects of abortion. Employees of this organization will be going door-to-door IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

Make sure you know what to say if Planned Parenthood employees show up at your door. You have the right to refuse to talk to PPWI employees. Educate yourself and your neighbors! Planned Parenthood is not a child or community-friendly organization.

PLW welcomes Steve Karlen as development director

Blessed with unprecedented growth in 2010, we are excited to add a new staff member to our total protection team. Joining Pro-Life Wisconsin is Steve Karlen of Madison. As our development director, Steve will help us expand our efforts, build on our recent successes and advance the cause of life in Wisconsin.

Many of you may already know Steve and his wife Laura from their involvement with Vigil for Life of Madison, Our Lady of Hope Clinic, and especially our successful derailment of the late-term abortion facility at the Madison Surgery Center. Steve, Laura and their son Peter live in Madison. Feel free to contact Steve at (262) 796-1111 ext. 14 or steve@prolifewisconsin.org. Welcome, Steve!

Thanks to everyone who attended our protests of Planned Parenthood's fundraisers for Tom Barrett

Last week, Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, was the keynote speaker for fundraisers for gubernatorial candidate Tom Barrett. Gov. Jim Doyle, a Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin lifetime achievement award recipient, also attended.

Pro-Life Wisconsin peacefully and prayerfully protested the bloody collaboration of Cecile Richards, Governor Jim Doyle and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (endorsed by PPWI for Wisconsin governor).

To view a slideshow with pictures from the protests, click here.

Planned Parenthood claimed 300 people attended three fundraisers they held for Barrett.

We're not impressed with Planned Parenthood's numbers. Why?

- Our annual auction dinner, held every fall, is attended by more than 500 people;
- Our spring awards dinner is attended by nearly 100 people;
- Hundreds throughout Wisconsin observe Roe v. Wade with prayer in their communities;
- Our Pro-Life Wisconsin affiliates throughout the state mobilize to march in parades, staff fair booths and pray and sidewalk counsel outside Wisconsin's abortion facilities;
- Every year, the number of high school students who apply for our Sharon Schumer Memorial Scholarship increases;
- Thousands signed our pro-life petition to keep abortion out of the Madison Surgery Center;
- Our Victory Fund PAC endorsed a record 96 candidates for political office this year, showing that more and more candidates are embracing the total protection message;
- Many of Planned Parenthood's count of 300 people were their own staff members!

What does this mean? Pro-life is winning! And you're helping us win - through your prayers, financial support, activism and volunteering. Click here to make a donation today.

Planned Parenthood: A black hole for babies and bucks

American Life League's Rita Diller, director of STOPP, had the following editorial in the July 30 edition of the Washington Times:

Where's the money? That's the question on everyone's mind after reading the recently released Government Accountability Office (GAO) report. The GAO numbers on money paid out to Planned Parenthood between 2002 and 2008 reveal an unaccounted-for $1.3 billion.

No answers have been forthcoming. In typical Planned Parenthood style, the abortion giant has done nothing to shed light on the question. In fact, it has done just the opposite.

After weeks of investigation by American Life League's Stop Planned Parenthood project, it appears the reason the GAO was not able to account for the expenditure of the great majority of the government money received is that Planned Parenthood will not produce its internal audits for the GAO to analyze.
