It's not all bad news out there!

There is plenty of bad news one could focus on, especially in the pro-life, pro-family realm. This week, we would like to point out many of the very positive things going on in our state.

- Sidewalk counselors in Milwaukee had a save last week Thursday! The mother's name is Kieza and we ask that you keep her and sidewalk counselors in your prayers.

- Four days after our July 18 Stations of the Cross prayer vigil at the Planned Parenthood abortuary in Madison, sidewalk counselors had a save! See picture, left, of Father Rick Heilman leading the Stations; more than 120 people attended. Click here to view a larger version of the picture.

- In Rockford, Ill., two mothers turned away from the abortuary last week, deciding to keep their babies.

- As a result of the pro-life billboards we have had in locations around Milwaukee since December, more than 400 women have called for crisis pregnancy counseling and assistance. Click here to view the billboard.

What does this mean? The pro-life battle is not only fought in the courts and in the legislatures, but through the power of prayer and action. It is through prayer and peaceful witness outside abortion mills, offering women the help they need, that hearts and minds will be changed.

YOU can help us keep the good news coming! We strongly encourage everyone to get involved in this fall's 40 Days for Life effort. 40 Days for Life will be observed in the Wisconsin area in Milwaukee, Madison, Appleton, Wausau, Green Bay and Rockford, Ill. 40 Days for Life begins September 22 and runs through October 31. Visit 40daysforlife.com for details or keep an eye on the Monday Update for contact information.

Planned Parenthood to hold "Party in the Park"; Urban Outfitters to sell condoms benefitting Planned Parenthood

Note to parents:
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin will be holding a "Party in the Park" on August 26 at Washington Park, located on N. 40th Street in Milwaukee.

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin will be celebrating 75 years of abortion, black genocide, free birth control to teens and parental deception. Click here to view event online.

In other Planned Parenthood news, teen and young adult clothing store Urban Outfitters is now selling condoms in their stores. The condoms are "created by Planned Parenthood, proceeds will support advances in reproductive health." Click here to view. This is simply another instance of Planned Parenthood targeting youth.

Elena Kagan confirmed as next Supreme Court Justice

From LifeSiteNews:

Shortly before 4 p.m. on August 5, the Senate voted to confirm pro-abortion, homosexualist activist Elena Kagan as the replacement for Justice John Paul Stevens as a member of the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

"Elena Kagan will emerge as one of the Supreme Court's most agenda-driven, reliably pro-abortion Justices," said Dr. Charmaine Yoest, President and CEO of Americans United for Life Action.

The 63-37 vote was sufficient to override any possibility of a last-minute filibuster.  Five Republicans voted for her: Sen. Olympia J. Snowe (R-ME), Sen. Richard G. Lugar (R-IN), Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Sen. Susan M. Collins (R-ME).

Pro-life blogger Jill Stanek wrote on the "Upside of Kagan's confirmation." Stanek has some good observations on the importance of pro-life activism. Read it here.

Vatican Cardinal urges Spaniards to defy new abortion law

From LifeSiteNews:

The head of a major Vatican dicastery and the former archbishop of Toledo has criticised lawmakers who supported the new Spanish abortion law that allows virtual abortion-on-demand.

The cardinal called on Spaniards to defy the law that he said was not possible to respect.

Where a law "legitimizes" abortion or euthanasia, he said, it "ceases to be a true morally binding civil law."

What to say when Planned Parenthood shows up at your door

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin [PPWI] is hiring "community campaigners to help run our 2010 canvassing operations." These employees of PPWI, based out of Milwaukee, Madison and the Fox Valley, will be going "door-to-door [to] talk about issues affecting women's health and rights." Click here to view the job description on PPWI's website.

Many people asked for talking points on how to address Planned Parenthood's lies. Click here for a list of reasons why we are opposed to Planned Parenthood.

Click here for a sign to print off and post on your door or your window. Share it with your family, friends, church groups and neighbors! If Planned Parenthood does knock on your door, and you do not feel comfortable engaging them in a discussion, point to the sign and tell them to leave. By law, Planned Parenthood employees have to leave your property when you direct them to the no-trespassing sign.

Parents need to be aware that PPWI is an organization which covers up statutory rape, lies or is ignorant about fetal development, provides birth control to teenagers without their parents' knowledge and lies to women about the physical and emotional after effects of abortion. Employees of this organization will be going door-to-door IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

Make sure you know what to say if Planned Parenthood employees show up at your door. You have the right to refuse to talk to PPWI employees. Educate yourself and your neighbors! Planned Parenthood is not a child or community-friendly organization.
