Cardinal Burke Receives Petition from 30,000 Supporters, Offers Words of Hope

On Thursday, December 11, presented Cardinal Raymond Burke with a book containing the names of 30,000 supporters who thanked him for his strong, uncompromising defense of life, the family, and the moral law.

After offering words of gratitude for the outpouring of support, Cardinal Burke offered words of encouragement to all those working to defend the cause of life, marriage, and the family.
We must all now, going forward, remain united in our Lord Jesus, defending the truth of our faith, especially with regard to marriage and the family. We can be confident, even though things can seem rather dark to us, that if we cooperate with God’s grace, and are true defenders of the faith and promoters of the truth about marriage and the family, that Our Lord will not be lacking in his grace for us. Of course, the victory is always his in the end. Let’s remain steadfast and not give way to discouragement.

Newly 'Found' Louis Lerner Emails May Add Proof of IRS Discrimination Against Pro-Life Groups

For years, pro-life and pro-family groups were randomly targeted by the IRS, undergoing audits and other forms of viewpoint discrimination. Pro-Life Wisconsin was one of those organizations, being hit in 2009 with a full blown IRS audit. Because of our impeccably kept records, we emerged from the time-consuming and costly audit unscathed, but we now realize that the IRS claims of random selection were simply not true. Conservative groups defending traditional values were specifically targeted by the IRS for intense scrutiny.

Now, Lois Lerner's recently rediscovered emails may add further evidence of viewpoint discrimination under her leadership.
"For at least four years, discrimination against pro-life and conservative groups by the IRS was taking place under the direction of Lois Lerner," said Peter Breen, vice president and senior counsel of the Thomas More Society. "Based on our clients’ experience, we knew the law had been broken. We are seeking these emails in hopes of building a strong case for the appropriate prosecutor to take legal action against those in the IRS who abused their authority by acting against pro-life non-profit groups on the basis of the group members’ protected beliefs."
