75% of Women Who Had an Abortion Used Contraception

It was recently reported that abortion rates in the U.S. are at their lowest since 1973. Abortion supporters were quick to cite easy access to contraception as the key to this decline, and they issued a call for even more contraception use. The problem is, it has been shown that increased use of contraception is linked to an increase in abortion rates, not a decrease. A recent study in England shows that 75% of women who had abortions were using contraception when they got pregnant. The contraception failed, and abortion was the outcome.

Key quote from the study: "Ultimately, women cannot control their fertility through contraception alone and need accessible abortion services as a back-up for when their contraception lets them down."

Prelude to Persecution? UN Committee says Catholic Church Must Change Teachings

The United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child has issued a direct challenge to the Catholic Church, calling in a new report for Catholics to change immutable teachings on abortion and homosexuality, and even to modify canon law to suit their agenda. While limited in its impact for now, this report could very well be the prelude to widespread persecution of those who uphold the sanctity of life and marriage. Read more here and here.

Russia Proves Low Fertility Solves Nothing

According to many abortion advocates, children are a drain on the economy, and they drag society into poverty and misery. Consequently, having fewer children should lead to economic prosperity and human flourishing.

But as history has proved, that's simply not true. Aborting away the future inevitably leads to a country's collapse, and Russia is a perfect example. Read more

Pro-Life Wisconsin affiliates will be hosting and participating in 40 Days for Life vigils from March 5 - April 13. 40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God's power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion. It encourages participants to be a visible presence outside of abortion mills and contraceptive distributors for 40 consecutive days, making a powerful testament to the power of prayer and vigilance.
