![]() ![]() North Dakota State Senate Passes Personhood Amendment!
On February 7, the North Dakota State Senate passed Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) 4009,
legislation that would amend the North Dakota State Constitution to
provide that “the inalienable right to life of every human being at any
stage of development must be recognized and protected.” The North
Dakota Personhood Amendment now moves to the House of Representatives.
Jennifer Mason, spokesperson for Personhood USA, believes the
legislation has a very good chance of passing the House and being
signed by Governor Jack Dalrymple. “We just need the North Dakota House
of Representatives to stay strong and vote as they did before,” she
said, “and we’ll see this pass for the first time in the United
States.” Click here for the full LifeSiteNews story.
4 Planned Parenthood Locations Closing in Wisconsin
As Pro-Life Wisconsinites prepare for the 2013
Day at the Capitol on March 7, Planned Parenthood announced
that it will be closing 4 of its 27 locations in Wisconsin due to a
lack of state funding. Facilities in Beaver Dam, Johnson Creek,
Chippewa Falls and Shawano will close between April and July.
Specifically, PPWI says the
closures are the direct result of the Wisconsin Legislature eliminating
$1 million in state funding for the group in the last biennial
budget. This is a stark reminder that pro-life advocacy on behalf of the unborn has a very real impact.
In response to this news, Matt Sande, Pro-Life Wisconsin's Legislative Director, issued the following statement:
“Wisconsin
taxpayers who conscientiously oppose the use of public funds to
directly or indirectly subsidize abortion applauded last session’s
state budget bill partially defunding Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin,
the state’s largest abortion provider. Today they welcome Planned
Parenthood’s decision to close four of its state funded birth control
centers, centers that refer for surgical abortion and dispense
abortifacient contraceptives – often to minor children without parental
notification. Pro-Life Wisconsin will continue its hard work to totally
defund Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin of all public funds.”
Assembly special election tomorrow -- don't forget to vote!
A Wisconsin State Assembly special election will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, February 19,
in the 98th Assembly District (AD). The 98th AD comprises the Village
of Sussex, the City of Pewaukee, the Town of Pewaukee, the northern
wards of the City of Waukesha and the western wards of the City of
Brookfield.
The Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund political action committee (PAC) has proudly endorsed Matt Morzy (R) in the 98th AD special election. For those of you who live in the 98th AD, tomorrow's special election is too important to miss.
Plan to exercise your right to vote tomorrow, February 19, and
encourage your family and friends to do the same. Vote for life, and
