Obama
HHS Mandate Modifications Not Enough
On
Friday, the Obama
Administration announced new modifications to the
HHS mandate to "accommodate" religious organizations. These
modifications,
while slight improvements, are not enough. Nor will any future
modifications be adequate. The only way the Obama Administration can
truly fix this gross violation of religious freedom is to completely
repeal the unconstitutional HHS mandate.
If the mandate is not repealed, religious freedom will suffer greatly.
It is not the governments job to tell religions the extent of their
ability to exercise their faith. Nor is it the governments job to tell
non-profits, or even for-profit businesses, where their ability to
exercise their conscience ends.
No, the only just solution to this gross overreach by the federal
government is a complete repeal of the immoral and illegal mandate,
which
is flawed by definition. For further analysis of the modifications to
the mandate, read this assessment by Americans
United for Life.

Backs Personhood for the Unborn
Pope
Benedict XVI has lent his support to those
working for personhood in
the European Union---an initiative called "One of Us"---and in so
doing, has endorsed
personhood initiatives throughout the world. "I salute the Movement for
Life. I wish them success with the initiative called One of Us, so that
Europe is always a place where the dignity of each human being is
protected," the Holy Father said.
