Milwaukee Sheriff: Care about black lives? Protest outside your local abortion facility

Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke, an African American, has some words of advice for protesters who are concerned about the deaths of black Americans: Protest your local abortion clinic.

His comments came in the context of a media interview about the protests surrounding perceived police racism.

"When I hear these things that 'black lives matter,' the only people who really believe that statement are American police officers who go into American ghettos every day to keep people from killing each other... Look, the abortions? If black lives, if they really mattered, that’s where the outrage would be. That’s where we’d see protests."

Approximately 75% of All Abortion Clinics Have Closed Since 1991

In 1991, there were 2,176 surgical abortion centers in the U.S. According to a recent survey, there were 739 in 2014. That's a decline of approximately 75% in 23 years.

This massive decrease comes as a result of the prayerful witness of countless pro-lifers, as well as the efforts of pro-life legislators. While the decrease is a very positive sign, even one abortion clinic is too many.

Pro-Life Wisconsin will continue to work for a day when there are zero abortion clinics in our state by educating, legislating, and activating the people of Wisconsin to embrace a no-compromise culture of life!

Four Pro-Life Resolutions for the New Year

At Pro-Life Wisconsin, we begin 2015 eager to see an end to all threats to human life in our state, whether it be surgical abortion, euthanasia, or assisted suicide.

If you share our enthusiasm for building a culture of life, you might want to embrace these four pro-life New Year's resolutions!
1. Educate: When I gave pro-life talks in public high school classrooms, I asked the students to take a survey before the talk, and then again after the talk, to gain insight. I wanted to know if the presentation made a difference. Without showing any graphic images and just focusing on factual information about the unborn and what abortion really does to the unborn, I was able to change minds in a 50-minute class period. The initial surveys would usually reveal nearly a 48/48 split among the students: 48% for abortion, 48% against abortion, and the rest undecided. By the end of those short encounters, the majority of the students who said they were pro-choice at the beginning of class changed their position to either pro-life or undecided.
