Pro-Life Wisconsin to provide welcome to
Cecile Richards, Gov. Jim Doyle and Mayor Tom Barrett
On Thursday, July 8, Planned
Parenthood of Wisconsin [PPWI] announced that Cecile Richards,
president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, will be the
keynote speaker for two fundraisers for gubernatorial candidate Tom
Barrett. Click
here to view event on PPWI's website.
Planned Parenthood and Cecile Richards can be assured of Pro-Life
Wisconsin’s presence at these fundraisers. Planned Parenthood’s theme
of ‘Moving Wisconsin Forward’ is disrespectful to the thousands of
babies they kill every year, babies who will never see the light of day
in Wisconsin.
We will prayerfully and peacefully protest the bloody collaboration of
Cecile Richards,
Governor Jim Doyle (a PPWI lifetime achievement award recipient) and
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (endorsed by PPWI for Wisconsin governor).
The communities in which these events will
be held – at the homes of Planned Parenthood supporters, in Milwaukee
on July 28 and Madison on July 29 – will not be able to ignore Planned
Parenthood’s destructive agenda.
To get involved with our peaceful protest of these events in Milwaukee
(July 28) and Madison (July 29), email virginia@prolifewisconsin.org or
call toll-free (877) 463-7945.

Why is Planned Parenthood worried about
Wisconsin?
Why is Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of
America, coming to Wisconsin?
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin [PPWI] receives a LOT of money from the
state of Wisconsin, courtesy of the taxpayers – $12 million per
year in state and federal funding. PPWI's 2008 financial records list
$10 million in assets and a $20 million yearly budget. $8.6 million of
that budget is spent on employee salaries. In 2008, PPWI had enough
money to pay off a $400,000 loan owed to abortionist Dennis
Christensen.
PPWI has endorsed Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the upcoming
governor's race.
Pro-Life Wisconsin made our endorsements for governor official on June
22 (read the press release here)
and
on
June
28, Planned Parenthood put out a press release about our
endorsements (read it here).
Rasmussen poll results show both of Pro-Life Wisconsin's endorsed
candidates lead Barrett by a significant margin. Read the Rasmussen
poll results here.
An Associated Press article, which was in Sunday's Chicago Tribune, Minneapolis Star Tribune and
others, discussed how the abortion debate will be one of the deciding
factors in the governor's race. Pro-Life Wisconsin's Matt Sande is
quoted in the article. Read the AP article here.
The conclusion here is – once again, for PPWI, it's all about the
money. A pro-life governor will cut PPWI's lifeline of taxpayer
funding. Vote pro-life!

PLW launches petition to stop taxpayer
funding of abortions in Wisconsin
Pro-Life Wisconsin is calling upon the Wisconsin State Legislature to
pass legislation opting the state of Wisconsin out of abortion coverage
in its prospective state health insurance "exchange." United States
House Resolution (H.R.) 3590, the Patient
Protection
and
Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare)
allows
health insurance
plans offering abortion coverage to participate in a state's exchange
and to receive federal subsidies unless the state legislature
proactively opts-out of offering such plans.
Although the state exchanges do not go into effect until 2014, several
states have passed legislation to opt-out of abortion coverage
including Arizona, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Missouri
and Oklahoma. In poll after poll, Americans overwhelmingly say they
oppose the inclusion of taxpayer-funded abortion in health care reform
legislation. The state of Wisconsin should not force us to participate
in the killing of our preborn brothers and sisters with our federal tax
dollars.

encourage your family, friends and neighbors to sign it as well. Feel
free to photocopy the petition and gather as many signatures as you can.

Milwaukee mom puts pro-life beliefs into action
From the Milwaukee Catholic Herald,
July
8:
In the end, a tiny newborn T-shirt and receiving blanket broke down the
wall of a woman’s heart. Her teenage daughter was pregnant and she was
encouraging her to obtain an abortion. But the two walked into the
Women’s Support Center of Milwaukee and into the arms of Mary Gilpin.
The executive director counseled the grandmother-to-be about the
benefits of life, of opening up to God’s will, and of the long-term
physical and emotional effects of abortion.
Before her daughter Lucia was born a year ago, Danielle Silva
Heckenkamp, as a volunteer with the Women’s Support Center, witnessed
similar difficult scenarios faced by unwed teen and young mothers, and
of families experiencing financial hardship.
Last January, Heckenkamp developed Swaddle for Life, a company
developed to aid families struggling with the commitment of a new baby.
For its first fundraiser, Swaddle for Life is hosting a trunk show,
Saturday, July 17 in the auditorium at Heckenkamp’s parish, St.
Stanislaus, on Historic Mitchell Street in Milwaukee.
“Local designers will be selling their products at the trunk show,” she
said. “Such items will include handcrafted purses and jewelry, baby
quilts, nursery décor and children’s clothing, which are a few items
among many more. The event was organized to provide a fun shopping
experience for a great cause, and we hope it can be a regular event in
the Milwaukee area.”

- Our Sunday Visitor explores
the case of Dr. Oscar Biscet, who has been locked in a Cuban prison
cell as a prisoner of conscience, for his “dangerous” public stand
against abortion, the death penalty and euthanasia. While working as an
internal medicine specialist at the government-run Hospital Hijas de
Galicia in Havana, Biscet conducted a clandestine study that revealed
newborn babies being killed right after birth, a common practice
throughout Cuba, which has the most abortions in the hemisphere. He
confronted the government with the results, along with a letter
addressed to Fidel Castro accusing the Cuban National Health System of
genocide. Click

Mexico's falling birth rate is threatening its future. Mexico's birth
