A Joyful Sendoff!

Over 130 people gathered at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee to celebrate the legacy of Pro-Life Wisconsin's longest serving State Director, Peggy Hamill. "It is no exaggeration to say that Pro-Life Wisconsin is the organization it is today because of Peggy," said veteran board member George Kreigl, citing numerous examples of Peggy's influence on the organization over its 20 year history. Dan Miller, current Pro-Life Wisconsin State Director, also praised Hamill's husband Bob, who served as her constant companion and driver during her many years of service.

After a slideshow highlighting Peggy's tenure as State Director, Wisconsin State Senator Mary Lazich presented her with an award on behalf of the state of Wisconsin and praising her dedicated defense of life. Multiple standing ovations greeted each presentation, acknowledging Peggy's profound impact on our state. Finally, Hamill took to the podium to thank supporters of Pro-Life Wisconsin. "I always say that I've been surrounded by people who make me look good," she noted, thanking the staff of Pro-Life Wisconsin over the years. She also praised her husband, Bob, and their 10 children for supporting her in her work.

Throughout the night, Peggy was surrounded by a number of her 15 grandchildren, who were all eager to share her lap. Hors d'oeuvres and a delicious cake, graciously provided by the San Camillo Assisted Living Home, were enjoyed by all. It was a joyful celebration of a life lived on behalf of others, especially the weakest and most vulnerable members of our society.

Pro-Life Wisconsin would also like thank the many donors to the Hamill Love in Action Fund, which supports our many educational initiatives. If you would like to make a donation to this fund in honor of Peggy, please click here.

Judge Rules Wisconsin Abortion Restriction Unconstitutional

On Friday, a federal judge declared a Wisconsin law requiring abortion doctors to get admitting privileges at a local hospital unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge William Conley, who earlier had put the law on hold, ruled that the 2013 law is unconstitutional. He issued a permanent injunction blocking its enforcement.

"The only reasonable conclusion is that the legislation was motivated by an improper purpose, namely to restrict the availability of abortion services in Wisconsin," Conley wrote.
