PLW affiliates to observe Griswold v. Connecticut, gear up for busy summer

Pro-Life Wisconsin affiliates have dramatically increased their peaceful presence in front of abortion and birth control centers throughout Wisconsin. On Palm Sunday, more than 150 PLW participants braved blustery conditions in Appleton and Green Bay to pray the Stations of the Cross. Meanwhile, PLW families in both Juneau and Sheboygan Counties launched their communities’ first ever 40 Days for Life vigils this spring.

We’ll see that increase in affiliate activity this June when pro-lifers from across the state mark the 46th anniversary of the Griswold v. Connecticut Supreme Court decision, which decriminalized birth control, led to the pseudoscientific redefinition of pregnancy from conception to implantation and paved the way for Roe v. Wade and abortion on demand.

Here’s how communities across the state will mark this solemn occasion:
Pro-Life Wisconsin-Juneau County will gather at Family Planning health Services at 522 Hwy. 82 E in Mauston on June 7 from 7-8 p.m.

Pro-Life Wisconsin-Milwaukee County will gather at Planned Parenthood on Hwy. 100 and Lincoln Ave. in West Allis on June 7 from 5-6 p.m. An ice cream social will follow.

Pro-Life Wisconsin-La Crosse will gather at the Options at 1201 Caledonia Street in La Crosse on Wednesday, June 8 from 3-5 p.m.

Vigil for Life/Pro-Life Wisconsin-Dane County will gather at Planned Parenthood at 3706 Orin Road on Tuesday, June 7 at 6:30 p.m.

Pro-Life Wisconsin-Kenosha County will gather on June 4 at 11 a.m. at the Planned Parenthood on Roosevelt Rd. and 36th Ave. in Kenosha.

Pro-Life Wisconsin-Rock County will hold a vigil on June 3 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Rockford, IL abortion facility at 10th St. and Broadway.

Pro-Life Wisconsin-Marathon County will gather on June 7 at 4 p.m. at Family Planning Health Services at 719 North 3rd Ave in Wausau. A picnic will follow. A 7:30 a.m. Rosary at the St. Joseph Pro-Life Memorial at St. Mary's Oratory in Wausau will be followed by 8 a.m. Mass.

Pro-Life Wisconsin Portage County and the Servants of Our Lady of Guadalupe will hold a prayer vigil on June 6 at 4:30 p.m. at the Planned Parenthood in Wisconsin Rapids. An additional vigil will be held June 8 at 5:30 p.m. in Stevens Point at the Family Planning Health Services on Division St.

Pro-Life Wisconsin Fond du Lac County will hold a prayer vigil on Tuesday, June 7 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in front of Planned Parenthood, 333 N. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac.

Pro-Life Wisconsin Jefferson County will hold a June 7 prayer vigil at the Pllanned Parenthood in Johnson Creek. Prayer will be at 6 pm, followed by an ice cream social. Families are encouraged to come. Questions, call Ann at (920) 342-7858 or Tracy at (920) 988-6288.

Griswold v. Connecticut plans are being finalized in additional locations. Call the Pro-Life Wisconsin office toll-free at (877) 463-7945 for information.

As in years past, affiliates will be participating in  staffing pro-life booths at county fairs across the state and spreading the pro-life message through community events, such as parades. Stay tuned to our website ProLifeWisconsin.org for details on county fairs and parades. Volunteers are needed for this summer!

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin to hold open houses

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin receives $18 million annually in state and federal taxpayer funds, and recently, the Wisconsin legislature voted to pull approximately $1 million of that money. Planned Parenthood is Wisconsin's largest abortion chain.

So in an effort to bolster its public image and gain new customers — don’t forget, PPWI was the target of a full-page Pro-Life Wisconsin ad in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel — Wisconsin’s largest abortion chain is holding open houses for PPWI “friends.” The open houses will be held in Oshkosh, Eau Claire and Portage (where Bishop Morlino recently held a prayer vigil).

Pro-Life Wisconsin Winnebago, Outagamie, Calumet, and Brown county affiliates are holding a prayer vigil Wednesday, June 1 at the Oshkosh Planned Parenthod during the open house. Your presence to “stand up” for LIFE and for the closing of Wisconsin's abortion chains is needed!
Please join in a peaceful prayer vigil with others who value life!

Wednesday, June 1, 4-6 p.m., Planned Parenthood, 378 S. Koeller Street, Oshkosh.

Bishop Morlino consecrates cemetery for the preborn

On Tuesday, May 24, 300 people joined Bishop Morlino in a unique celebration of life. The Miracle of Life Rosary Garden, constructed on the grounds of St. Mary of Pine Bluff (3673 County Road P, Cross Plains, WI), as a sacred place to bury babies lost before birth.

The Knights of Columbus Honor Guard led the procession, followed by the altar boys, then the Knights of Divine Mercy, and Bishop Morlino brought up the rear.

Fr. Rick Heilman — pastor of St. Mary’s, founder of the Knights of Divine Mercy, a wonderful pro-life priest and a great friend to Pro-Life Wisconsin — led the crowd in the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary [photo, above].

In Bishop Morlino’s homily, he discussed the importance of chastity, especially in today’s culture, and how IVF and contraception work against an appreciation of life. Bishop Morlino emphasized the importance of treating life as a miracle, and celebrating every day as a miracle.

The dedication and consecration prayers were followed by a family potluck cookout.

The cemetery is a place for people to bury babies lost before birth. 88 burial spots were created, and four babies are already buried there. Photo, left: One of the bricks surrounding the rosary garden states simply, “For all the babies only God has named.”

Boycott Pepsi over use of aborted fetal cell lines

From LifeSiteNews:

Scores of prolife groups are calling for a public boycott of food giant, PepsiCo, due to its partnership with Senomyx, a biotech company that uses aborted fetal cells in the research and development of artificial flavor enhancers.

LifeSiteNews previously reported on Senomyx’s partnership with major food corporations, most notably PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, and Nestlé.

Pro-life watchdog group, Children of God for Life (CGL), is now joined by major pro-life organizations calling upon the public to target PepsiCo in a boycott.

Pepsi is funding the research and development, and paying royalties to Senomyx, which uses HEK-293 (human embryonic kidney cells) to produce flavor enhancers for Pepsi beverages.
