Happy Thanksgiving!
We have been truly
blessed this year in many ways, and we couldn’t
have done it without you! Thanks to God and to
all our pro-life supporters for the countless
blessings of 2012.
- Bishop Donald J. Hying celebrated
our 2012 “Rally for Life” Mass and joined the
PLW board as our spiritual advisor.
- Hundreds of Pro-Life
Wisconsinites traveled to Washington, DC for
the largest March for Life ever (nearly half a
million strong).
- In communities across Wisconsin
PLW affiliates held Roe v. Wade, Good
Friday, Griswold vs. Connecticut, Memorial
for Life, and 40 Days Vigils.
- PLW volunteers led “Stand Up
for Religious Freedom” rallies in March,
June and October, drawing tens of
thousands of participants, including
Wisconsin’s bishops.
- On February 25th 175 people
from around the state attended our
activist training camp in Madison, Sarah
Zelenak and Angelyn Von Rueden were
awarded our college scholarships, and we
kicked off our college intern program
with Kristin Van Spankeren.
- Statewide gatherings
included evenings with David Bereit in
Madison and Green Bay and our 20th
anniversary fall dinner with special
guests Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch,
Bishop Donald Hying and Joe Scheidler.
We awarded Nancy
Fredericks, R.N. our guardian angel
award, Rep. Andre Jacque was named
Legislator of the Year, and Jim Ball
was named Activist of the Year.

sidewalk counseling and medical
decisions workshops, training
hundreds of life advocates.
-
ProLifeWisconsin.org was further
upgraded with a new “Video and
Audio” tab and “The Banner”
online.
- Our True
to Life media campaign brought
billboards, bus ads, YouTube
productions, newspaper
advertising and inserts, and
radio promotions to the public.
- A
record number of our Protective
Power
of Attorney
for Health
Care
documents were sent out or downloaded
from ProLifeWisconsin.org.
- Adults and students alike
were reached by our speakers,
fair booths, parade units,
blog, Twitter, websites,
YouTube, pamphlets and
advertising.
- Last spring the
Wisconsin State Legislature
passed and Governor Walker
signed into law pro-life
legislation repealing the
contraception sexual
education mandate, banning
webcam chemical abortions,
and opting Wisconsin out of
abortion coverage in our
prospective Obamacare health
insurance exchange.

Thanksgiving and may God
bless your families!

“…the
issue of the world does not depend on us but
is in God’s hands.” – Pope Benedict XVI
I often feel very small working in
the pro-life movement. In a left-leaning
town such as Madison, I question my ability
to make even the slightest change to the
culture of death. As I type away in this
coffee shop, I look around me, pondering how
many customers share the same pro-life views
as me. Probably not very many, I conclude,
and the lonesomeness creeps in. But maybe
it’s not their fault, I continue. Maybe they
haven’t even been introduced to the truth.
Maybe they have never been shown this real
love. It’s possible they are on my side, but
the odds are against me.
