D.C. circuit court of appeals rules against HHS mandate

This ruling is encouraging news!

Justice Janis Rogers Brown nails it when she writes that the burden of the HHS mandate “becomes substantial because the  government commands compliance by giving the Gilardis a Hobson’s choice. They can either abide by the sacred tenets of their faith, pay a penalty of over $14 million, and cripple the companies they have spent a lifetime building, or they become complicit in a grave moral wrong…If that is not 'substantial pressure on an adherent to modify his behavior and to violate his beliefs,' we fail to see how the standard could be met.”

Bring on the SCOTUS!!

"We cannot ever give up," says Dr. Monica Miller at Pro-Life Wisconsin Annual Auction Dinner

“Even if it looks like we are going to lose, even if we do lose, we cannot ever give up.”

That was the message of Dr. Monica Miller’s stirring address to Pro-Life Wisconsin supporters gathered at our 2013 Annual Auction. A veteran pro-life activist and author of the powerful book Abandoned, Dr. Miller spoke to a packed house, challenging auction attendees to continue fighting to protect the unborn, to honor their humanity, and to show compassion to them in their loneliness and abandonment. Hear the Inside Story about the 2009 Successful Effort to Stop Abortions at the Madison Surgery Center
When pro-life Dr. Nancy Fredericks learned the UW Hospitals and Clinics secretly planned to transfer Planned Parenthood's late-term abortion services to the Madison Surgery Center where she worked, she was called, by God's grace, to find allies like ADF attorney Matt Bowman to uncover this covert scheme, challenge university hospital officials, and coordinate a response both by the public and by her physician peers.

Both Dr. Fredericks and Attorney Matt Bowman will be in Appleton to speak about this experience and how others working in health care can respond to the HHS Mandate and other challenges to practicing medicine according to a sanctity of life ethic. The program, sponsored by the St. Gianna Molla Guild of Northeast Wisconsin, will run from 5:15 to 9 p.m. on November 7 at the Holiday Inn, Appleton just off Highway 41. The cost, including dinner, is $35 for members, and $45 for non-members - $45. More information and the registration form are available here. Download a flyer by clicking here
