As Pro-Life Wisconsin turns 20, challenges and opportunities await

In 1992 several seasoned pro-life leaders from across the state, very concerned that there was no major Wisconsin pro-life organization publicly addressing many key issues (the victims of abortion condemned to death by rape, incest, “life of the mother” and "fetal abnormality" exceptions, abortifacient birth control, broad acceptance of the contraceptive mentality and proliferation of passive euthanasia to name a few), came together to form Pro-Life Wisconsin.

The motive was clear and simple: we recognized the need for a statewide educational and legislative organization dedicated to defending each and every innocent human life from the time that person is formed until natural death, without exception, without compromise.
Twenty years ago our dedicated founders knew and we clearly understand today that unity in the pro-life movement is only of value when we are all united to the truth. Those who separate themselves from the fundamental truth that every innocent human being is deserving of equal protection under the law will never achieve victory. Pro- Life Wisconsin has been and continues to be blessed to work closely with 100% pro-life groups like American Life League, Human Life International, Wisconsin Family Council, Pro-Life Action League, Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Rachel’s Vineyard, Life is Worth Living, Children of God for Life, Pharmacists for Life International, the Catholic Medical Association and many others.

As we move into October, Respect Life Month, please join us at your local Life Chain, a nearby 40 Days for Life campaign or a Religious Freedom Rally. Pray outside your town’s birth control and/or abortion center or right in your own church or home. Lend a hand to help a 100% pro-life candidate. Register for the PLW 2013 March for Life Pilgrimage to Washington D.C. There are so many other things you can do. Please make every effort to join us on October 20 in Oconomowoc as we come together to celebrate Pro-Life Wisconsin’s 20th birthday at our annual Fall Auction Dinner. Our special guest speakers will be Bishop Donald Hying, Joe Scheidler and Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch.
Thank you for your support as we mark 20 years and move forward united in the fullness of the truth of the Gospel of Life.

“Conduct me, O Lord in thy way and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice that it may fear thy name.” (Psalm 85:11)

Schools for Contraception

From National Review Online:
New York City’s public schools do a poor job educating kids. In fairness, though, that’s not their expertise. What they excel at is giving out contraceptives....

It can be harder to get an aspirin in some schools around the country than it is now to get Plan B in New York. The schools can give a synthetic female hormone to a girl as young as 14 without so much as a text message to her mom. If the children were given 24-ounce Mountain Dews, Mayor Michael Bloomberg would immediately cashier his schools chancellor. Such is the perverse value system of New York’s nanny state that the program ran with no notice to the public — ho-hum — until the New York Post broke the story the other day.

Surely, many parents of the kids in the affected schools aren’t involved enough in their children’s lives. But that doesn’t mean schools should keep from them that their daughters are having unprotected sex and might be pregnant.

If easy, widespread access to contraception were the answer to teenage pregnancy, the New York schools would have solved the problem long ago. More access to the latest contraceptive technology isn’t going to make a difference.

Cuckoo for Contraceptives

From Jill Stanek:
In plain English hormonal contraceptives (which include the Pill, shots, and implants) contain artificial steroids taken on a daily basis over the course of decades that chemically alter a woman’s normal monthly menstrual cycle by overriding messages sent by the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, both located in the brain.

Does that sound healthy? We now know it’s not. Hormonal contraceptives increase a woman’s risk of fibroid tumors, ovarian cysts, heart attacks, strokes, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, infertility, liver tumors, yeast infections, and more; and they decrease her bone density and libido, and more. (And a new study shows the Pill increases the risk of staph infections, aside from the fact it offers no protection against STDs.)

Will we ever learn? It’s possible. It just depends on whether or not we’re sailing on the Contraceptive Titanic.

We will graphically be putting on visual display the truth about what someone is really supporting or allowing if they claim to be ‘pro-choice’ (which is just an euphemism for ‘pro-abortion’), by holding pictures of aborted preborn babies.  No longer will the citizens of these towns and communities be able to say that they were unaware of the murder of the Preborn child taking place in our culture.
