Obama video trashes Ryan and Mourdock: "Extremists on Abortion"

(by Steven Ertelt/  The Obama campaign has released a new video seeking to take advantage of negative press related to a statement pro-life Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock made about rape and abortion.

The video seeks to paint pro-life candidate for Vice President Paul Ryan as somehow identifying with Mourdock's comments because the two share a position against aborting babies in cases of rape or incest.  The video labels the two "abortion extremists."
The ad opens with video of Mitt Romney and Mourdock together showing Romney's Monday endorsement for Mourdock, before the comments were made.  The Obama video then moves to Mourdock's comments, saying that "even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that is something God intended to happen."  The text then claims Ryan "holds the exact same position."

"I've always adopted the idea, the position that the method of conception doesn't change the definition of life," Ryan is shown saying.

"Mitt Romney's 'solution' to extremism against women?  Promote the extremists," the Obama ad concludes.

Mourdock has accused Democrats of twisting his words and the intent of his statement.

"I would be less than faithful to my faith if I said anything other than 'Life is precious.'  I think it is a gift from God.  I don't think God would ever want anyone harmed, sexually abused or raped.  I think it's wrong when someone wants to take what I said and twist it," Mourdock said.  Click here for video.

NOTE:  Pro-Life Wisconsin is committed to protecting each and every innocent human life – in all circumstances and at all stages of development. To be “100% pro-life” is to know that a human life begins at conception and to therefore understand that there may never be a legal exception to an innocent child’s inalienable right to life. Accordingly, it requires defending the child conceived in rape, the child whose mother’s life is perceived to be in danger, the disabled preborn baby, the tiny embryo vulnerable to experimental research, or the “terminally ill” patient who is viewed as a “burden” on society.  For more details on PLW’s total protection position, please click here.

Pro-life women leaders unify behind Richard Mourdock

(by Steven Ertelt/  The heads of three national pro-life groups say they are unified behind the candidacy of Richard Mourdock, the pro-life candidate for Senate in Indiana.  Mourdock has been the focus of national media attention over his comments related to rape and abortion.

In a joint statement released to LifeNews, the heads of the Susan B. Anthony List and Concerned Women for America joined Phyllis Schlafly in supporting Mourdock.

“Richard Mourdock said that life is always a gift from God, and we couldn’t agree more. To report his statement as an endorsement of rape is either willfully ignorant or malicious. Congressman Donnelly should not underestimate our ability to understand Mourdock’s meaning.  During the same debate, the Congressman once again claimed that he was a pro-life candidate. Actions speak louder than words, and Joe Donnelly’s vote forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions under Obamacare is all Hoosiers need to know about where Joe Donnelly really stands.” – Marjorie Dannenfelser, President, Susan B. Anthony List

“We support Richard Mourdock in his belief in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. The issue at stake here is more of a theological question, and it needs to be discussed in a more in-depth and sensitive manner among people who understand the theology of God’s sovereignty in the midst of evil acts. Murdock is a strong pro-life candidate as opposed to his opponent, Joe Donnelly, who is inconsistent on life issues and is one of the Stupak 12 who cast a deciding vote in the House of Representatives on ObamaCare, which provides federal funding for abortion-inducing drugs and surgical abortion.” – Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women Political Action Committee

Parents sue doctors for declaring 8 year-old 'dead' despite life signs

CHICAGO, Illinois, October 25, 2012 (LifeSiteNews) – Parents have sued Chicago doctors for declaring their disabled son “dead” and then allegedly ignoring signs that he was still alive for almost five hours, despite pleas for further tests from the boy’s parents and relatives. The boy survived the ordeal, but has since been in a coma.

“You didn’t have to be a doctor to see that the heart was pumping blood,” the boy’s father, Pink Dorsey, said at a news conference last week.
The lawsuit filed by the parents on behalf of their son accuses Mercy Hospital and Drs. Stephanie Knodel and Laura Napier of “negligent infliction of emotional distress, and pain and suffering”.  Click here to continue....
