New Study: Link Between Oral Contraceptives, Breast Cancer Really Does Exist

For years now, pro-lifers have been warning about the harmful side-effects of oral contraception. But despite the fact that the World Health Organization classified the pill as a Class A carcinogen, the liberal media has largely ignored the mounting evidence that the pill is harmful to women's health.

Now, however, yet another study has been released documenting the strong link between use of the pill and breast cancer. This time, the results are harder to ignore.
The study concludes that, “compared with the control group, the women who had used birth control pills in the previous year had a 50 percent higher risk overall than women who had either never used the drugs or had used them in the past.” Dr. Owen Montgomery, a spokesman for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said, “Talk to your provider about the type of birth control you’re using and make sure it meets your needs in light of this new information.”

Memorial Services Honor the Unborn

This past Saturday, well over 100 people gathered at the Milwaukee grave site of 1,200 aborted children to hear a moving reflection by Bishop Donald Hying. Bishop Hying called those present to continue steadfastly in their work to build a culture of life and to promote the dignity and personhood of the preborn child. Dan Zeidler, who was involved in the original 1983 burial of many of the aborted children at the cemetery, gave a touching account of the history of this holy site. Dan Miller, Coordinator of Milwaukee 40 Days for Life lead those gathered in songs and prayer. Peggy Hamill State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin was the M. C., and Bishop Hying closed the memorial with a scriptural Rosary and his blessing.

In La Crosse, college students and pilgrims gathered at the Memorial to the Unborn at the beautiful Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The participants sang songs, prayed, and laid flowers at the foot of the memorial. Sam Guzman, Communications Director for Pro-Life Wisconsin, offered words of encouragement, challenging participants to grieve, pray, and act on behalf of lost lives.

In Dane, pro-lifers were led by Will Goodman of the pro-life apostolate, the Servants of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in a memorial service at the burial site of an aborted child.

Pro-Life Groups Barred from NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade, Catholic League Quits

New York City Cardinal Archbishop Timothy Dolan has been under fire for his recent approval of a gay rights group openly marching in the NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade for the first time. Cardinal Dolan is the Grand Marshall of the parade, a traditionally religious event celebrating a great missionary saint of the Church.

Now, however, news has broken that no pro-life groups will be allowed to march in the parade, a decision that has prompted the prominent Catholic League, headed by Bill Donohue, to quit the event.

“I asked them to pledge that a pro-life Catholic group would also be permitted. I was told that a formal change in the rules had been approved and that a pro-life group would march," Donohue said. "Now I am being told that the list of marching units is set and that no pro-life group will march in next year’s parade. Accordingly, I have decided to withdraw our participation.”
