National Day of Remembrance for the Unborn
Several Wisconsin communities will participate in a National Memorial Day for the victims of elective abortion. These vigils are sponsored by Priests for Life, Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society. In Wisconsin, they are being organized and cosponsored by Pro-Life Wisconsin.
The most notable of all the September 14th Abortion Memorial events will take place in Milwaukee at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery (Children’s Section) at the burial site of over 1,200 preborn babies.
Bishop Donald Hying and Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz will be the main presiders at this service. As a local pastor, Bishop (then Monsignor) Bruskewitz presided over the original 1988 burial. Dr. Monica Miller will be the M.C., and Peggy Hamill, State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin, will give a reflection.
Another memorial service will also take place at 10 a.m at a burial site located on the church grounds of St. Michaels Parish in Dane Wisconsin. This vigil will be lead by PLW’s Deputy State Director Matt Sande, as well as Deacon Jack Fernan of the Diocese of Madison.
