State primary elections tomorrow — Don't
forget to vote!
Don’t forget to vote in tomorrow’s fall primary election (Tuesday, September 14) – let your
pro-life voice be heard!
Please keep the following points in mind as you vote tomorrow:
• The Wisconsin fall primary is a “closed” primary.
• You have the choice whether to declare a party
affiliation.
• You must
limit your votes to candidates in only one party.
• If you cast votes for candidates in more than one
party, your entire ballot will be invalidated.
PLW Victory Fund PAC candidate endorsements
The Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund
political action committee (PAC) has endorsed 96 candidates who are 100
percent pro-life and running for state office in the upcoming fall
primary and general elections. We are pleased to be able to endorse
these candidates who proudly support the ‘no exceptions’ pro-life
philosophy. Only when we have lawmakers who will not discriminate
against those preborn children who are politically unpopular – those
conceived in rape or incest, for example – will we see an end to the
scandal of abortion. Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund supports candidates
for public office who demonstrate a commitment to protect each and
every innocent human life – in all circumstances and at all stages of
development.

Wisconsin Bishops: Faithful citizenship begins
with right to life
From LifeSiteNews:
While voters should weigh several factors in choosing a candidate to
support, the right to life is the most essential of all, said the
Catholic bishops of Wisconsin in a pastoral letter on the U.S. bishops'
voters guide. Read it here.
Entitled “A Letter to Catholics in Wisconsin on Faithful Citizenship,”
the document addressed four themes: the right to life, the nature of
marriage, the poor and dependent, and the environment. However, the
bishops made clear that these were not “pick and choose” values, but
were built on a hierarchy with the right to life as the most
fundamental.
The letter was signed by Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki of Milwaukee;
Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison; Bishop Peter F. Christensen of
Superior; Bishop David L. Ricken of Green Bay; and Bishop William P.
Callahan of La Crosse.
Expanding upon the U.S. bishops' guide "Forming Consciences for
Faithful Citizenship," the pastoral letter stated its intent to provide
a “framework of Catholic social teaching” to assist Catholics “in
forming your conscience, in evaluating political candidates and public
policies, and in fulfilling your calling to bring the love and truth of
Jesus Christ into a world where these are so dearly needed.”
“First and foremost, the right to life of every human person – from
conception to natural death – is the primary and thus most essential of
all human rights,” the letter stated. “Faith teaches and human reason
confirms that human life is not a privilege bestowed on us by others,
but rather a right that society must recognize and protect.
"As Christians, we are called to witness to an authentic ‘human
ecology’ which safeguards all human life – no matter how frail or
impaired – from being manipulated or destroyed.”

the Alliance Defense Fund have done together in the past 18 months –
from the Madison Surgery Center victory, to the revelation that the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security had performed a terrorism
assessment of Wisconsin pro-lifers, to the open records request
revealing that abortionist Caryn Dutton was fleeing to Harvard from
UW-Madison, and much more. Join us in
celebrating 18 years of advocating for total protection and personhood
in Wisconsin!

Pro-Life Wisconsin’s Annual Auction Dinner on October 16 offers
businesses, organizations and individuals a special opportunity to
contribute to building a Culture of Life in Wisconsin. As a banquet
sponsor, your support directly funds PLW’s efforts to educate state
residents on the sanctity of each and every human life — from
conception
to natural death.
Your sponsorship also provides the opportunity to showcase your
business, organization or event to the more than 500 pro-lifers who
attend. You’ll receive a three-line entry in the banquet program —
which
serves as a handy resource for attendees who look to patronize PLW
supporters in their communities. Our four sponsorship levels range from
$1,000 to $100. For more information or to register as a sponsor,
contact Development Director Steve Karlen at (262) 796-1111 or

Merrill School
Board approves sex ed in 5-4 vote
From the Wausau Daily Herald
[emphasis
added]:
Merrill public school students will learn about contraception this
year, despite objections from parents who wanted the district to cancel
sexual education.
After nearly three hours of debate and emotional testimony, the School
Board voted 5-4 September 8 to accept a state mandate and offer a
comprehensive human growth and development curriculum. The classes will
include information about birth control and sexually transmitted
diseases.
The School Board also required that an advisory committee be formed to
determine how and when the information will be presented to students.
It also said the curriculum must be developed and opened to public
scrutiny at least 45 days before being taught, to give parents a chance
to review the lessons and remove children from the courses if they
object to the content.
The law requires districts offering human growth courses to teach about
birth control, sexually transmitted diseases and other topics related
to human sexuality, in addition to emphasizing abstinence. If districts
don't present the information, they must cut human growth and
development courses, according to the law. Prior to this year, Merrill has relied on
an abstinence-only curriculum.
Click
here to read more.
If a school district retains or initiates a human growth and
development program [sex ed], Pro-Life Wisconsin urges parents to
opt their children out of the program and either teach
chastity/abstinence themselves or find a private program that does. Our
children's lives depend on it, born and preborn.
For a sample form to file with your school to opt your child(ren) out
of sex ed, click here.

Sidewalk counseling
seminar in Milwaukee on Oct. 2
Pro-Life Wisconsin is sponsoring a sidewalk
counselor training session on Saturday, October 2 from 11 a.m. to 2
p.m. St. Rita’s/Three Holy Women Parish will be hosting the event. The
church is at 1601 N. Cass St., Milwaukee. Snacks and beverages will be
provided.
Sidewalk counseling is exactly what the name implies — standing on the
sidewalk outside an abortion clinic, counseling women and couples on
their way inside. It is a last attempt to turn their hearts away from
abortion and offer real help. Veteran sidewalk counselor JT Eschbach
from the Pro-Life Action League will be conducting this free seminar
that is open to people of all ages who are interested in knowing how to
be an effective witness for Christ and life at an abortion clinic. This
training is also very helpful for anyone interested in learning
how to talk to people about abortion and guide them to real help.
To attend, email Pro-Life Wisconsin at office@prolifewisconsin.org or
call (262) 796-1111. You MUST
pre-register in order to
attend.
