40 Days for Life: 298 babies saved and a desperate backlash

40 Days for Life reports that nationwide, 298 babies have been saved so far from abortion, and those are just the ones we know of. Six of those saved babies happened in Milwaukee! This weekend in Milwaukee also saw many college pro-life groups turn out to pray at the abortion mill. Last Thursday in Green Bay, more than 30 people gathered to pray in the pouring rain in the middle of the day. For these and many more blessings, we thank God.

40 Days for Life is observed in the Wisconsin area in Milwaukee, Wausau, Green Bay, Madison and Rockford, Ill. For more information, go to 40daysforlife.com. 40 Days for Life runs until Sunday, March 28 and they still need you to pray with them!

As positive proof that 40 Days for Life is working, the Wisconsin Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice and NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin Foundation are striking back by intimidating pro-lifers and raising money off their efforts. On the Web site forty4forty.com, the logo encourages donations with the slogan, “Pledging to end harassment… one picketer at a time.” This is not “choice,” nor is it pro-woman nor pro-health. It is threatening. On the Web site, Family Planning Health Services in Wausau and the Madison Surgery Center, both 40 Days for Life sites, are specifically targeted.

Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund PAC endorses Mark Gundrum for Waukesha County Circuit Judge

The Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund political action committee (PAC) has proudly endorsed Mark Gundrum for Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge, Branch 2. Elected to the State Assembly since 1998, Mark Gundrum has twice been honored as PLW’s Legislator of the Year for his committed leadership on behalf of preborn children. Mark’s legal background includes serving as Chairman of the Assembly Judiciary Committee for seven years, Vice-Chairman of the Criminal Justice Committee for four years, judge advocate general (JAG) officer in the Army Reserve for nearly a decade, and local municipal prosecutor in Waukesha County for seven years. Deployed to serve in Iraq in 2008, Mark served as a Rule of Law attorney working directly with Iraqi judges to establish the rule of law in their fledgling republic.

Mark Gundrum’s broad legislative and judicial experience coupled with his commitment to the federal and state constitutions as written make him the only choice for pro-life voters in the upcoming spring general election, which will be held Tuesday, April 6.

Mark Gundrum received his law degree from UW-Madison Law School and his political science and economics degrees from UW-Madison. He is a graduate of Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School. Mark and his wife Mary live in New Berlin with their seven beautiful children. Girl Scouts distribute Planned Parenthood sex guide at United Nations meeting

The World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides hosted a no-adults-welcome panel at the United Nations last week where Planned Parenthood was allowed to distribute a brochure entitled “Healthy, Happy and Hot.” The event was part of the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which concluded last week.

The brochure, aimed at young people living with HIV, contains explicit and graphic details on sex, as well as the promotion of casual sex in many forms… The brochure also tells students that national laws requiring HIV-positive people to reveal their status to their partner(s) “violate the rights of people living with HIV” and calls for advocacy to “change laws that violate your rights.”

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles fundraiser garners support from nationwide businesses

Last week, Bryan Kemper of Stand True Ministries revealed that a number of businesses were supporting a Planned Parenthood Los Angeles fundraiser. Businesses that donated to the Planned Parenthood fundraiser included the Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, American Idol, Dr. Phil, Paula Deen, Fogo de Chao Steak House, Benefit Cosmetics, Tiffany & Co., National Baseball Hall of Fame, Opus One winery, Stags Leap winery, Callaway Vineyard, La Jota Vineyard and many more. Since then, the Cheesecake Factory has withdrawn their support of Planned Parenthood. To read an update from Stand True Ministries (and a list of businesses to continue boycotting), click here. This victory is due to pro-lifers speaking out! Make sure your voice is heard! Businesses may not notice if you choose not to patronize them, but they will notice a letter or phone call in opposition to Planned Parenthood.

Spring Awards Dinner

Pro-Life Wisconsin’s Spring Awards Dinner will be held Saturday, April 17 at 6 p.m. at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Visitor’s Center) in La Crosse, Wis. Sister Christa Marie, FSGM, executive director of the Shrine, will give a keynote presentation on the Memorial to the Unborn located at the Shrine. Sister Christa Marie will discuss the vision behind, significance of and future plans for this magnificent structure.

Awards will be presented for the legislator of the year and activist of the year. Seats are $35 each. A limited number of seats are available, so register soon!

Good Friday Prayer Vigil

Join Pro-Life Wisconsin and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society for Good Friday Stations of the Cross with procession to the Affiliated abortion mill. At Three Holy Women Parish - St. Rita's 1601 N. Pro-Life Wisconsin Chippewa Valley prays and gives public witness against abortion and contraception outside the Eau Claire Planned Parenthood (1231 Menomonie St.) every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month at 11 a.m.

Pro-Life Wisconsin Milwaukee County gathers regularly on Saturday mornings at the Affiliated abortion center in Milwaukee, between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. SIDEWALK COUNSELORS ARE NEEDED! Pro-Life Wisconsin Waukesha County will join other pro-lifers for weekly 40 Days for Life prayer in front of the Planned Parenthood in Waukesha, 426 W. Main St. Prayer gatherings will be held the every Saturday during Lent from 11 a.m. to noon.

Pro-Life Wisconsin Juneau County gathers for prayer witness every Monday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Family Planning Health Services, 522 State Road 82 # F, in Mauston. Pro-Life Wisconsin Kenosha will observe 40 Days for Life by praying the Rosary every weekday, Monday through Friday, at 4:30 p.m., beginning on Ash Wednesday, in front of Planned Parenthood in Kenosha, located at Roosevelt Rd. and 36^th Ave. We will continue to have our usual Saturday prayer vigil at 11 a.m. during Lent. Rock County Chapter of Pro-Life Wisconsin encourages people to come to the Rockford abortion mill to pray, witness and counsel. Called “NIWC,” the Northern Illinois Women’s Center, is located at 10^th St and Broadway, Rockford, Ill. Mothers seeking abortion enter between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Servants of Our Lady of Guadalupe: 2010 spring mission for life with the missionary image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The replica image was touch to the actual Tilma of St. Juan Diego.
