36 years later, over 50 million victims

January 22, 2009 marks 36 years since Roe v. Wade made abortion legal in the United States. Since then, 50 million U.S. babies have died from surgical abortion.

In addition, many contraceptives are abortifacients (drugs that induce or cause abortions). Since 1965, an average of 11 million women have used abortifacient methods of birth control in the U.S. at any given time. Using formulas based on the way the birth control pill works, pharmacy experts project about 14 million chemical abortions occur in the U.S. each year, giving a projected total of well in excess of 560 million chemical abortions between 1965 and 2005, according to American Life League.

Worldwide, an estimated 1 billion babies have been killed through surgical abortion.

What is Pro-Life Wisconsin doing about these numbers? What can YOU do to end ALL abortion?

Pro-Life Wisconsin affiliates have volunteered for the 40 Days for Life vigils that occurred in five locations in Wisconsin this fall.

More than 100 people will be on Pro-Life Wisconsin’s annual bus trip to Washington, D.C. for the March for Life on January 22. At least 200,000 people from across the United States are expected to join together in their defense of innocent human life. Hundreds more will witness to the destruction of abortion in their hometowns in Wisconsin.

Pro-Life Wisconsin’s affiliates hold vigils on January 22 in remembrance of the preborn. Attend a vigil if you can, and remember the fight is not yet over! See the list of vigil locations below.

Educate your family, friends, people at church, and ANYONE you know about abortion - what it is, how candidates vote on it, what people can do to end it.
