Judge Roberts an “excellent selection” says Pro-Life Wisconsin

Peggy Hamill, State Director of Pro-life Wisconsin, offers the following comment on the nomination of Judge John Roberts for Supreme Court Justice:

“I’m very optimistic. President Bush appears to have made an excellent selection. Given what I know of Judge Robert’s history and statements he has made in the past, he is a strict constructionist who will not legislate from the bench.”

“What is critically needed is a Supreme Court that will recognize the inalienable right to life of every pre-born person by strictly interpreting the US Constitution.”

“The so-called ‘constitutional right to privacy’ that the Supreme Court has repeatedly cited to justify abortion-on-demand is nothing but a judicial fabrication. Privacy is not a constitutional right.”

“Ultimately, the Supreme Court needs to restore the legal personhood of the unborn child from fertilization to natural death. Nothing short of personhood will secure the right to life of the unborn child. Hopefully Judge Roberts will help move the court in this direction.”
