Lon Newman’s Drive up Birth Control Window Cheapens Love on St. Valentine’s Day

Lon Newman’s Drive up Birth Control Window Cheapens Love on St. Valentine’s Day
Today in Wausau, WI Family Planning Health Services held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil a new drive up window for birth control. Pro-Life Wisconsin State Director, Peggy Hamill, made the following comments:
“Lon Newman’s drive-up window is the ultimate symbol of what has gone wrong in America and why we continue to be plagued with 1.2 million abortions a year, skyrocketing numbers of STDs, an astronomical divorce rate and an increasing movement to euthanize the handicapped. America worships convenience at the expense of everything else. Many of the so-called ‘contraceptives’ that will be distributed through that window are really abortifacients that can act to destroy a newly formed person.”

Wausau's mayor, Jim Tipple, and members of the Wausau Chamber of Commerce were on hand to cut the ribbon for Family Planning Health Service's new drive up window for birth contol pills. Wisconsin is now one of three states that can be proud of cheap and easy access to abortifacient drugs

“A large portion of these products have been purchased for teenage girls with taxpayer money. Family Planning Health Services is a participant in the Medicaid Family Planning Demonstration Project, a federal and state program to provide birth control to low income women at no charge to them. Teenagers as young as 15 – regardless of their family income – are presumptively eligible for the program, and because there are strict confidentiality rules in place, Family Planning Health Services is currently prohibited by federal law from telling parents that their children are enrolled in the program and receiving birth control.”
“It is particularly shameful that Lon Newman is using St. Valentine’s Day to push his pills and patches. Contraception, particularly when it is marketed and sold to the young through ‘family planning’ centers, drives away the virtues and values upon which we base our freedoms and national identity. Americans are known the world over for our self-sacrifice and our determination to protect other people’s rights at great national expense. The contraceptive mentality – the same mentality that leads to the abortion mantra of “my body, my choice” – cuts this legacy in half. Instead of using St. Valentine’s day to reinforce the value of sacrificial love for our families and neighbors, Lon Newman’s new birth control window has made love a commodity as cheap as a cheeseburger. Will girls be asking, ‘Can I get fries with that patch?’”
