Pro-Life Wisconsin Announces Recipients of the
2003 Sharon Schumer Memorial Scholarship

Pro-Life Wisconsin is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2003 Pro-Life Wisconsin Sharon Schumer Memorial Scholarship: Angela Brennan, from Janesville, will graduate from Parker High School in Janesville and plans to study accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the fall; Tiffany Doan, from Fennimore, will graduate from Fennimore High School and plans to study music therapy at Alverno College in Milwaukee.

“Our scholarship rewards young people for pro-life service and encourages them to be soldiers for life on their college campuses,” said PLW state director Peggy Hamill. “It was named after former board member Sharon Schumer, who dedicated her life to raising up principled, passionate young pro-life leaders.”

Angela, whose pro-life activity over the past five years includes many hours of volunteer work, parades, and the March for Life in Washington, D.C., is determined to continue her advocacy for innocent preborn babies on campus. “Hopefully I will have more leadership in the pro-life movement through my involvement during college,” said Angela.

Tiffany considers herself an activist on behalf of innocent human life and claims her most profound involvement was witnessing for life outside an abortion clinic during World Youth Day in Toronto. She looks forward to the future and states, “The most positive thing I will be able to do in college is to pray for the unborn children and for a conversion of heart for those who are pro-choice. In our society, we can sometimes feel that we aren’t getting anywhere, but with God and much prayer nothing is impossible.”

“We were so impressed with the many applications we received this year,” continued Hamill. “It’s encouraging for all of us to know so many young people are committed to protecting innocent human life.”

Angela Brennan and Tiffany Doan will be awarded the scholarships before their peers, teachers and families during commencement activities. They will also be recognized at the annual Pro-Life Wisconsin Fall Banquet to be held on October 3 at the Country Inn in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Congratulations, Angela and Tiffany!
