Pro-Life Wisconsin Mourns the Loss of Terri Schiavo
and Condemns Her Premeditated Murder

Pro-Life Wisconsinites mourn the tragic loss of Terri Schiavo and condemns her premeditated, court-ordered, prolonged execution. A warning goes out that our nation must take heed and put an end to this culture of death.

“Our prayers and sympathy pour out to the Schindler family and Terri’s true friends,” stated Peggy Hamill, state director of Pro-Life Wisconsin. “As we work through our sadness we must take Terri’s tragedy as a wakeup call.”

“The removal of food and water to cause death must never be permitted,” continued Hamill. “As basic human needs, they are basic human rights. To stop this madness, society must understand the crux of the issue – it is never morally licit to intentionally end an innocent human life.”

On March 25th the world marked the tenth anniversary of Pope John Paul II’s prophetic encyclical, Evengelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life). He warned of the utilitarian treatment of innocent human life that we see today. Terri Schiavo is not the first to be victimized in this manner, nor will she be the last innocent victim of intentional death by dehydration and starvation. This occurs every day in nursing homes, hospices and hospitals in communities throughout our nation.

“The beautiful smile of Terri Schiavo will be forever ingrained in our minds as we are reminded of the dignity and self-worth of all God’s precious children,” concluded Hamill.
