Pro-Life Wisconsin celebrates Election Day victories!

Brookfield, WI – Pro-Life Wisconsinites are greatly encouraged by Election Day victories of total protection pro-life candidates across Wisconsin. New pro-life majorities in the state Senate and state Assembly and a pro-life governor and lieutenant governor will help build a culture of life in Wisconsin.

“We congratulate Governor-elect Scott Walker and Lieutenant Governor-elect Rebecca Kleefisch on their outstanding victories, victories for Wisconsin’s preborn children and the vulnerable elderly and disabled,” said Mary Matuska, president of the Pro-Life Wisconsin (PLW) Victory Fund political action committee (PAC). “Their convincing wins prove that Wisconsinites will elect to high office men and women of principle who proclaim that abortion is never the answer to an unplanned pregnancy,” said Matuska.

Unofficial reports show Republicans gaining 14 seats in the state Assembly and 4 seats in the state Senate to secure pro-life majorities in both houses. In the Assembly, 35 of the 51 candidates endorsed by the PLW Victory Fund PAC were elected and in the Senate, 5 of the 8 endorsed candidates were elected.*

“The lives of innocent preborn children are more on the minds of candidates than ever, thanks to the dedication and hard work of grassroots pro-life campaign volunteers around the state,” said Matt Sande, director of the Victory Fund PAC. “In the coming legislative session, we will be working to make sure that our success in this election translates into greater legal protection for these innocent lives.”

Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund supports candidates for public office who demonstrate a commitment to protect each and every innocent human life – in all circumstances and at all stages of development.

“Senator-elect Leah Vukmir (R-Wauwatosa), Representatives-elect Andre Jacque (
R-Green Bay) and Joe Knilans (R-Janesville) and all our endorsed candidates care passionately about protecting preborn children without exception,” said Sande. “We are so proud of their effort and look forward to working with them.”
