Thousands of Wisconsinites Call for
Ban on Human Cloning

Before the Wisconsin Senate Judiciary Committee and the Assembly Public Health Committee, the petitions of thousands of Pro-Life Wisconsinites were registered in favor of AB 104 and SB 45, companion legislation to ban all forms of human cloning in Wisconsin.

The powerful testimony by the legislation’s authors, Rep. Steve Kestell (R-Elkhart Lake) and Sen. Joseph Leibham (R-Sheboygan), by Pro-Life Wisconsin Director of Legislative Affairs Matt Sande, by American Bioethics Advisory Commission Director Father Joseph Howard and many others was bolstered by the presentation of the overwhelming number of signatures representing the sentiment of thousands.

The petitions read in part, “Human life is not a commodity. The dignity and individuality of the human person must never be disregarded.” Calling for a total ban on all human cloning in Wisconsin, the petitions go on to state, “All human life deserves protection.”

“Petitions continue to pour into Pro-Life Wisconsin’s State Office,” stated Peggy Hamill, state director of Pro-Life Wisconsin. “They will continue to be circulated by churches, schools, community groups and PLW affiliate leaders throughout the state until a ban on all human cloning becomes a reality.” Continued Hamill, “The good citizens of Wisconsin recognize the evil nature of human cloning.”
