Stop Planned Parenthood's Birth Control Agenda!

Let's tell the Wisconsin Congressional Delegation to "Oppose the Prevention First Act (PFA)!"

The election of Barack Obama has bolstered Planned Parenthood's effort to accomplish passage of the Prevention First Act (PFA).

What is the Prevention First Act?  The PFA is federal legislation that would provide millions in taxpayer dollars for Planned Parenthood to implement much of their coercive family planning/birth control agenda.

The PFA (2009 House Resolution [H.R.] 463 & 2009 Senate Bill [S.] 21) would:

• Make Title X (family planning) a permanent program and fund it at $700 million or more;
  
• Mandate that all health insurance plans that cover prescription drugs also cover abortifacient contraceptives;

• Create a government program to promote/push abortifacient "emergency contraception;"

• Take away federal money from any hospital that refuses to provide abortifacient "emergency contraception" to rape victims upon their request;

• Appropriate massive funding for "comprehensive" sex education programs [contraception education/instruction].  Abstinence-only programs are specifically excluded from this funding; and

• Permanently include family planning services as part of the Medicaid program.

Government-funded birth control, whether provided directly or promoted educationally, encourages sexual promiscuity and with it a host of social pathologies including underage pregnancies, chemical and surgical abortions, and sexually transmitted diseases. Hormonal contraceptives are also dangerous in their own right, posing serious and sometimes fatal health risks to women and often causing pre-implantation chemical abortions.
