Burial Vessels for Miscarried Babies

Miscarriage involves a number of potential significant losses and is a complex grief that can involve an additional kind of suffering not necessarily present with other types of bereavement. Since 2005, Pro-Life Wisconsin’s Jonah Christian Drake Burial Vessel Fund has supported those who need help with burial vessels. Pro-Life Wisconsin provides these burial vessels and works with Elizabeth Ministry to aid grieving women and families. If you are in need of assistance and would like a burial vessel through Pro-Life Wisconsin’s Jonah Christian Drake Burial Vessel Fund, please contact Pro-Life Wisconsin.

Background information about Elizabeth Ministry

Not only has a couple lost their baby, but they seldom get a chance for a funeral and burial. Elizabeth Ministry and the Life & Loss Institute provide support for grieving families and appropriate burial vessels.

Inspired by the Gospel story of the visitation of Mary and her older cousin, Elizabeth, Jeannie Hannemann and the late Fr. Kurt Gessner, OFM Cap., founded an organization in 1991 to support women in their childbearing years. Networks of Elizabeth Ministers, based in parishes, offer prayer and one-on-one peer support to new parents, bereaved couples and family members in need of help. They further do whatever else they can to strengthen families and help mothers and children.
