Sharon Schumer Memorial Scholarship
Building tomorrow’s pro-life leaders… today!
In our continued efforts to recognize and develop pro-life leadership and convictions among Wisconsin’s youth, the Pro-Life Wisconsin Education Task Force is offering the Sharon Schumer Memorial Scholarship to two Wisconsin graduating high school seniors. These $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to two young adults who meet the following requirements, complete the application process, and are chosen by the selection committee. $500 will be paid the first year of college with an additional $500 paid the second year pending continued leadership in the pro-life movement.

REQUIREMENTS
Students eligible for these scholarships must meet the following requirements:
- are graduating Wisconsin seniors (home schooled students are eligible)
- have been accepted at and will be attending a two-year or four-year college or university (public or private)
- have completed the following application requirements
1. APPLICATION
Include a completed application form.
Summary of Pro-Life Involvement Entitle this section “Pro-Life Involvement.” Write a summary of your pro-life activities. Please give a thorough account of your past involvement in the pro-life movement. Examples may include: prolife speeches, involvement in pro-life organizations/ministries, direct service to women and children or the elderly and disabled, attendance at pro-life rallies, public hearings, Marches for Life, pickets/prayer vigils, published pro-life articles/letters, etc.
2. Letters of Recommendation
Please provide at least two letters of recommendation from adults who are familiar with your pro-life involvement. These persons are to be non-relatives. These references could be written by a pastor, a prolife leader, a teacher, or some other adult familiar with your pro-life convictions and activities.
3. ESSAYS
Entitle this section “Essays.”
Essay #1
In no more than 2 double-spaced pages, please outline how you plan to continue your pro-life work while attending college.
Essay #2
In 2-4 double-spaced pages, please answer the following questions. You are encouraged to do some background research for this essay.
What does it mean to be “pro-life?” Should exceptions be made and abortion allowed in certain circumstances? (For example, in cases of rape or incest, or when a doctor believes a mother’s life may be in danger.) If not, why? Why is it important for pro-lifers to demand protection for each and every preborn baby?

Please place in a large envelope(at least 9 x 12) and do not fold the application materials. The complete application must be post-marked no later than April 15th and mailed to:
